First associated with Cocktail Radio (Paris) and cofounder of I love you FM
Hervé Kempf worked as a journalist for Radio Alligator in Montpellier and then for Science et Vie Micro. The impact of the Chernobyl disaster led him to devote himself to environmental issues. After founding the environmental magazine Reporterre in 1989
he worked on the TV show Sauve Qui Veut for the Capa Agency and then wrote about science for Courrier International (1992–1995) and about technology and ecology for the magazine La Recherche (1995-1998). In 1998 he joined Le Monde to cover environmental issues. In How the Rich Are Destroying the Planet
Kempf examines the relationship between the current social and ecological crises based on the theory of rival economist Thorstein Veblen.
